The following is a transcription of the brief Coroner interview from the Hard 'n Heavy, Thrash Metal Speed Special (1990), which was shown along with intercut footage from their "Masked Jackal" video, which was taken from an earlier Hard 'n Heavy video, Volume 3, I think.
Marquis Marky does all of the talking during all of the segments, as the music for "Masked Jackal" plays in the background throughout the interview. He is wearing his trademark leather jacket with the Misfits skull on it, whereas Ron Royce is wearing a t-shirt of fellow labelmates (at the time) Voivod. (I can't tell what t-shirt Tommy Baron has on, due to his hair being in the way.) Across the street you can see a tour bus (Coroner's?) and people filing into the club. The entire interview is spent with the band sitting on someone's car.
Marky has been prompted to tell where they are (the interviewer is never seen or heard throughout the entire segment).
"We are...back of the Country Club, Presidio, California."
Marky elaborates on how he views the people over here, as compared to overseas audiences:
"I think... uh... the people here are much more crazy; it's like they really go for it. And in Europe--" (He gets interrupted by someone offscreen then, saying "yeah!" in a death-metal voice.) Marky: [motioning towards offscreen person] "'Yeah!' [Baron laughs.] In Europe, sometimes they're like more cool--they stand there..." [leans back and folds his arms, looking bored]
Next is what road life is like...
"Our bus driver is incredibly bizarre. [laughs... Royce and Baron say something supporting his statement that can't quite be made out... something in regards to "two lanes", it sounds like] "It seems like, uh, it seems like there is no chance that he can find the club. It's like, if you have a distance, uh, which needs usually six hours, you have 100% twelve hours for that.
"He's always got some reason, uh, when he's late... uh, it's like 'oh, the generator is broken', or 'the map is wrong'."
[The remaining footage just shows a close-up of Marky, rather than the first shots showing the entire band, as he tells of their debut of R.I.P. and what kind of music they listen to.]
"We have like sitars and congas and stuff like that, and uh... so, we made a lot of experiments and stuff on that one... it's just being open-minded, listen to a lot of other music styles, like... whatever, like beat [help me out on this word, I'm not sure what he says...beat? Beef? Beep?], jazz, punk, classical music, whatever..."
Marky explains the difficulty in learning and writing in English in order to be open to a bigger audience:
"I learned a lot of English and stuff like that, which is very important, I mean [trails off, saying something about "European"]... it's actually very hard to write English lyrics... I mean, if you were to do something in German or whatever, there is just a few people who understand what we say, so..."
[The Coroner segment ends by showing the last several seconds of their "...Jackal" video.]
