Web Design

Q: I would like a personal web site, but I don't have a web host. What are my options?

A: It is likely that your ISP account comes with free personal web space. Your web site can be uploaded there, or to any host of your choice. If your ISP account does not include personal web space or you do not already have another host, we can advise you in finding a web host that meets your needs, or even suggest a reliable free web hosting service.

Q: When you have finished building my web site, will I have to upload it myself to the web host's server?

A: You can do that if you wish, but we can also do it for you. This is included with the cost of building your web site or page.

Q: I already have a web site, but it's not all that good. Can you help me improve it or fix problems?

A: Absolutely! We'll be pleased to suggest and make any improvements, as well as find and fix possible errors.

Q: I just want a single web page, something rather simple. Will you do that even though it's just a "small job," or is it going to cost me a lot?

A: We most certainly accept to work on any small projects for a very reasonable low price.

Online Help Authoring

Q: When my WinHelp or HTML Help project is completed, will you send me only the compiled help file, or the uncompiled files also?

A: Along with the compiled help file, we will send you the .RTF and .HPJ files (for WinHelp format) and all the uncompiled HTML and support files (for Microsoft HTML Help format.) This will enable you to import your project into any help authoring program.

Q: How long will it take for you to finish my project once I have made my payment?

A: It all depends on the size of your project, but we will give you an estimated time of when your project should be completed before you make your payment.

Q: Will you keep me updated on the progress of my project while you are working on it?

A: Yes, we will email you regularly to let you know about the progress on your project.

Q: I just thought of something that I would like done differently on my project, but you've already started working on it. What should I do?

A: Just send us an email to let us know about it. Unless it is a major change on something that we have already finished working on, we will make the desired modifications at no extra cost.

Completed Projects

Q: What if there is an error, or if my project requires a last-minute modification right after it has been delivered?

A: No problem. We will make the necessary correction or modification at no extra cost. We want you to be happy with your completed project.

Q: Somehow, the web site you created for me was deleted from my ISP/web host's server! How can I get it back?

A: We keep a backup copy of all the work we do. We will re-upload your site for you (or send you the files via email, whichever you prefer) at no extra cost.

Q: When my project is completed, how do you deliver it?

A: If your project is a web site, we will upload it to your web host's server, and/or email it to you, whichever you prefer. If your project is an Online Help file or graphics, we will send them to you via email.

Pricing & Billing

Q: I read that you process credit card payments via PayPal. What is PayPal and is it really secure?

A: PayPal is a widely-used (over 15 million users) online payment service. PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available.) Once you are registered with PayPal, you will not need to share your private financial information (e.g. credit card or bank account numbers) with Design Vortex during the transaction, so you can complete payment while retaining security. Also, for your peace of mind, we are PayPal Verified.

Q: Do you also accept money orders or checks for payment?

A: Yes, we do. For personal checks, work on your project will begin as soon as the check clears (may take up to 10 days.)
