Drawings

Way back in 1986, when I first started using computers (that was an Atari 1040 STF,) I used to draw using my beloved computer, mostly because there wasn't much else to do with it (I also used to "play" with Visual BASIC) -- programs were expensive and there weren't that many to choose from. So I drew stuff with the computer (I wish my late Atari Mega STE's hard disk hadn't crashed -- I lost all of my old crappy drawings and wasn't able to recover anything.) I didn't really try to draw again since I've had a PC -- I found it so difficult as such a high resolution. Recently though, I decided to give it a try after reading some info on drawing Neopets cartoonish animals.

I plan on making many more such animals :)

Scowpiant - Species genetically created on 10/22/03

The Scowpiant is a psychotic omnivorous creature which nests on the ground, preferably in sandy terrains. They live in large, well-organized colonies.

When the moon is blue, the Scowpiant lays its eggs (which look exactly like its body, only without legs, tail and head,) and starts producing large quantities of milk. It sells the milk surplus to Crocoroosaurus herds on the 1st of the month, when it has turned a nice dark color.

Scowpiants are "4/4 beat" creatures -- every four steps, their tail switches side and stings the ground lightly. Their pupils change size and their mandibles move up and down on a 4/4 beat as well. Walking properly is a very long process to learn for baby Scowpiants, who not only have a hard time following the 4/4 beat, but tend to sting the ground too hard with their tail, which often tips them over. Small groups of adult Scowpiants scrupulously patrol all areas reserved for the youngs to promptly put them back onto their feet, as a tipped-over Scowpiant could be emptied of its milk in less than a minute, which is fatal in most cases.

The body of Scowpiants is somewhat gelatinous and moves like jelly as they crawl around. They do not however smell like jelly but, rather, like a well-groomed rat. When Scowpiants have a psychotic fit -- which occurs about every 38 minutes -- they stick their tail in the ground and start spinning like a top. They can also spit milk (that is usually past the selling date) up to 10 feet away during a fit. It is, however, harmless.

Crocoroosaurus - Species genetically created on 10/20/03

The Crocoroosaurus is a peaceful herbivore, although it enjoys drinking Scowpiant milk on the 1st of each month. It lives in small herds on the grassy plains of the R.C.G. (Ratqueen Genetic Compound.)

Crocoroosauria (this is the plural form) are hoppers and flyers -- they are incapable of walking. When the female gives birth, the babies are shot right into the air, which is where the word "airborne" originated from. Baby Crocoroosauria are no larger than a common house fly when they are born, and act like one. They do not hop until they are 7 days old, and fly non-stop until that time has elasped -- when the Hopping Bell, located in their mother's belly, rings.

The young Crocoroosaurus is born green, and then turns blue when it is about 5 years old. When they are mature, at age 12, females turn brown and males turn red. It is only during the mating season that all Crocoroosauria change to a rich purple color. During that time, males honk loudly and females emit a soft "rooooh" sound, so as to help differenciate genders (deaf-mute Crocoroosauria just hide under a rock for the entire length of the mating season.)
